We received sensational news on the 4th of October 2015. The 50th Elite Auction of the Westphalian studbook at the Horse Centre in Münster-Handorf facilitated total sales of 1,45 Million Euro. The show jumping horses were sold at a price range that reached up to 33.000 Euros, and among them was our radiant Codanet (Kat.Nr. 22, v. Coronas – Phantom) who was sold at the highest price. Codanet is by Coronas, licensing champion and best jumping stallion of the 17th NRW Licensing in Münster-Handorf in 2007. Coronas demonstrated absolutely exceptional qualities in 2008. At his 30-day performance test at the same venue, he took a clear lead with a 9.38 score for his jumping ability and a 9.10 final score weighted towards jumping. With his excellent basic gaits and a rideability score of 8.25, he was among the best of the field. Codanet’s dam, Power Jumper is by Phantom- Roderich. The gray mare’s sire, Phantom was licensed in Muenster-Handor in 1989 where he got a dressage index of 138,44 and a jumping index of 121,64. Our DeLaqour and Equinara Horse Sports president Adinda Yuanita auctioned Codanet at the stallion market in 2012 in Handorf. Codanet derives from the breeder Josef Lenz from Ochtup.

Our Promising Young Boys

We are expecting four of our young stallions to be in stallion licensing this year. Two for Hannoverian and two for Oldenburg.

The first one is Quaterway (2013 chestnut Hannoverian). He is by Quaterback – Walt Disney II – Werther. Quaterback has already started his winning ways. Paired with the talented young rider, Christian Flamm of Hessen, Quaterback led the competition at the Bundeschampionate in 2006. He started his stallion career by being named Champion of his licensing in Neustadt/Dosse in 2005.

Quaterway’s dam,   St. Pr. Winona (by Walt Disney II), comes from a productive damline of Schwanjungfrau. This damline has produced 30 licensed stallions and 74 state’s premium mares. And also 293 placings in advanced level.

Dr. Watson Castrated

The Celle State Stud owned Hanoverian premium stallion Dr. Watson (by Diamond Hit x Florestan) will no longer be standing at stud. The stallion had to be castrated following a colic attack a week ago.

Bred by Nicole Wanning, the 5-year old dark bay Dr. Watson is by Diamond Hit out of Florentina H (by Florestan x Sunset Boulevard xx).

He became a premium stallion at the 2012 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden, Germany, and was acquired at auction by the Celle State Stud for 220,000 euro. He was stationed at the Roydorf stallion centre.

A week ago Dr Watson suffered a severe colick attack and had to be transported to the equine clinic in Hanover. The horse was operated on and during surgery the veterinarians discovered he suffered from inguinal hernia. The only way to save the horse was to castrate him. (eurodressage)

Cornet Obolensky's Grandsire Passed Away

Randel Z (v. Ramiro – Alme) passed away at the age of 31. He had been a successful jumper competitor with Ludo Philippaerts (Belgium). Two of his descendants belong to the world’s best jumpers, Cortes C placed third at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy with Beezie Madden.

Nector v.h. Carelshof won the World Cup freestyle in Berlin and placed well in the final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch with Ingrid Klimke. Further more, Randel Z is the grandsire of the dam of jumper producer Cornet Obolensky.

Randel Z himself did not do badly in the sport, either. In 1989 he jumped ten clear rounds out of twelve in the Belgian cycle for 5-yr-olds and finished in fifth place. That year he also finished fourth in the finals of the BC in Gesves.

Two years later he won the finals for 6- and 7-yr-olds in Bavikhove and also that year’s stallion competition of Jumping Mechelen. Then he moved for a year to the showjumping stables of Ludo Philippaerts. There he won in short time, in Belgian competitions alone, more than 100,000 Belgian francs under Ludo and Danny Verheyen.
