The famous sire for Eventing superstars has died at the age of 24 due to acute kidney failure. The stallion’s last home was at the Stallion AI Services in England. There was no more hope for his disease and so the equestrian world has to say goodbye. Since 2011 Ramiro B called the United Kingdom his home and the Irish warmblood has been acknowledged as the best sire of Eventing horses. Currently, his name can be found on the WBFSH rankings on 6th position for eventing stallions.
Among his successful offspring are Cooley Master Class and Cooley SRS, who were introduced to the sport by Oliver Townend. Meanwhile, Cooley SRS has been sold to Australia. However, Townend won the CCI4* last spring in Kentucky with Cooley Master Class.
The stallion breeding station expresses their grief after the tragic loss of their legend. They have had the honor and privilege to care for Ramiro B since 2011 and he has become a part of the family. He was a true gentleman and had an extraordinary temperament.
The owner of the stallion was Nina Barbour. She says “It was a real shock for us this week as the Team from Leahurst diagnosed the irreversible kidney failure after he lost his appetite a week before.â€
Barbour also mentioned that Ramiro B’s TG-Semen are still available through the Stallion AI Services.
